So, what happened?
(Hi, this is Jim) So, you noticed that I took an unplanned “break” from my duties? Well, it wasn’t pleasant! First, I caught a nasty flu bug right after our 25th Anniversary celebration; this would have been the week of January 27. I ended up home in bed with a nasty cough to go with it. After about a week, I came back to work, but with a pain on my chest that a doctor said was an inflamed hernia. A visit to our family physician confirmed that and after a visit to a surgeon, I underwent “emergency” out-patient surgery on February 4. They had me in and out of there in the same evening, but, oh, the recovery at home! I don’t know what was worse – the healing of a 2-inch incision or the after-effects of the painkillers! I am now back in the office, and back on the air, but going a little slow. Many thanks for your prayers and well-wishes! Total recovery time, I was told, is about six weeks.
