Diamond Jubilee - East Peoria First United Methodist Church

The First United Methodist Church of East Peoria will be having a Diamond Jubilee on September 29th, 30th, & October 1st.  The Diamond Jubilee is a weekend of events to celebrate a couple historical events in the life of the church.  They will be celebrating 60 years in the current church building located at 154 East Washington Street.  They will also be celebrating 150 years as a church in the East Peoria community.

The event will conclude on Sunday, October 1st, with a worship service at 9:30 a.m. where Rev. Mary Kathryn Pearce, Illinois River District Superintendent, will deliver the sermon.  The worship service will be followed by a lunch for all in attendance where the church will recognize those from the congregation that have been members for 50 years or more.

Masterpiece Mondays

Community Bible Study Peoria Evening Class invites YOU to study "Red Sea to the Jordan River" (Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers) for 2017-2018.

The Bible Study is for men, women and children of every denomination and every level of understanding.

This is a 30 week study that tells the story of how God delivered His chosen people, the Israelites, from Egyptian slavery and established them as a new nation.  The books tell of a holy God's faithfulness to weak and sinful people.  Biblical themes like doubt and faith, complaining and grace, crisis and intercession, failure and repentance provide numerous opportunities for spiritual growth through this CBS study.

All leaders in CBS are volunteers.  The small registration fee (adults $35, children infant-teens $10) and weekly free-will offerings cover the cost of producing materials and annual gift to host church.

The Addictions Program at the Bloomington Baptist Church is a faith-based, Christ-centered addictions program utilizing the Reformer's Unanimous Curriculum. Every week we hear stories of victory, receive small-group counseling and receive instruction and guidance on overcoming the challenges, temptations and addictions that we face.

This addictions program is not AA. We provide help for any addiction, not just alcohol. No one will attempt to guilt you or ask you to introduce yourself as an addict. At Reformer's Unanimous, our desire is to help you find victory and complete freedom from your addiction-- to remove the addiction from your life so that it ceases to have a hold on you.

Glenn Kaiser Worship Concert

International recording artist, lead singer and founder of the classic Christian rock group Resurrection Band (Rez Band) will lead an evening of outdoor worship on the stage of City Park in Chillicothe.

 

The family friendly event is a free concert from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at City Park located across the street from the Post Office on 2nd Street in downtown Chillicothe. This will be a great opportunity for local churches and individuals to gather for a time of worship and celebration in the heart of the local community.

 

“Saturday in the Park with Glenn Kaiser will be an amazing evening for church unity and connection through acoustic worship.” said Brent Ressler, Executive Director, Small World Connections.

 

Small World Connections Ministry is leading the effort with the support of the local ministerial alliance in Chillicothe.

 

Glenn Kaiser is a pastor with Jesus People USA based in Chicago and was part of the team that hosted Cornerstone Music Festival in Bushnell, Illinois for many years. Kaiser has prayed for Chillicothe for a long time and is excited to come share with the community of believers in the greater Peoria area.  He will also donate one of his handmade three-string cigar box guitars to be raffled off that evening as a fundraiser for the local youth center, CrossWord Café.

Camp of Champions USA - Fall Frenzy!

Father/Son Weekend-RDMK

Dear Dad, I?d like to invite you to consider attending the “Raising A Modern Day Knight” weekend seminar with your son [sons] at Camp Good News. The seminar covers all six sessions of the “Raising A Modern Day Knight” curriculum written by Robert Lewis and provides a unique opportunity to put what you?ve learned in the sessions into immediate practice with your son. While you are in the sessions, your son will enjoy some of the camp?s challenge activities like archery and the awesome zip-line, along with Bible challenges of their own. On Saturday afternoon you and your son will participate together in the rappelling challenge using our 25 foot rappelling platform. In addition, you and your son will have some unusual opportunities to be alone in the woods as you work on some of the „homework? from the teaching sessions, or search for hidden treasure with a compass! The weekend includes four delicious camp meals and a late night snack on Friday. You?ll spend the night in one of our elevated tree house cabins and enjoy an inspirational campfire on Saturday night. The Addictions Program at the Bloomington Baptist Church is a faith-based, Christ-centered addictions program utilizing the Reformer's Unanimous Curriculum. Every week we hear stories of victory, receive small-group counseling and receive instruction and guidance on overcoming the challenges, temptations and addictions that we face.

This addictions program is not AA. We provide help for any addiction, not just alcohol. No one will attempt to guilt you or ask you to introduce yourself as an addict. At Reformer's Unanimous, our desire is to help you find victory and complete freedom from your addiction-- to remove the addiction from your life so that it ceases to have a hold on you.

Same Kind of Different as Me Premiere

Join Peoria Rescue Ministries for a special red carpet premiere showing of the movie, Same Kind of Different as Me!  Peoria Rescue Ministries is excited to host this pre-screening and share the inspiring story of what God did through an unlikely friendship between a wealthy Texas art dealer and a homeless man he met at the Fort Worth Rescue Mission. It is a story of God’s redemption and forgiveness and what showing love can really mean to the homeless and hurting among us. The film stars Greg Kinnear, Jon Voight, Djimon Hounsou, and Renée Zellweger and is based on the New York Times bestseller.

Fused Glass Art classes

Community Bible Study Peoria Evening Class invites YOU to study "Red Sea to the Jordan River" (Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers) for 2017-2018.

The Bible Study is for men, women and children of every denomination and every level of understanding.

This is a 30 week study that tells the story of how God delivered His chosen people, the Israelites, from Egyptian slavery and established them as a new nation.  The books tell of a holy God's faithfulness to weak and sinful people.  Biblical themes like doubt and faith, complaining and grace, crisis and intercession, failure and repentance provide numerous opportunities for spiritual growth through this CBS study.

All leaders in CBS are volunteers.  The small registration fee (adults $35, children infant-teens $10) and weekly free-will offerings cover the cost of producing materials and annual gift to host church.

Community Bible Study Peoria Evening Class

Community Bible Study Peoria Evening Class invites YOU to study "Red Sea to the Jordan River" (Exodus, Leviticus, and Numbers) for 2017-2018.

The Bible Study is for men, women and children of every denomination and every level of understanding.

This is a 30 week study that tells the story of how God delivered His chosen people, the Israelites, from Egyptian slavery and established them as a new nation.  The books tell of a holy God's faithfulness to weak and sinful people.  Biblical themes like doubt and faith, complaining and grace, crisis and intercession, failure and repentance provide numerous opportunities for spiritual growth through this CBS study.

All leaders in CBS are volunteers.  The small registration fee (adults $35, children infant-teens $10) and weekly free-will offerings cover the cost of producing materials and annual gift to host church.

CBS meets on THURSDAY EVENINGS STARTING SEPTEMBER 7 THRU MAY 3 AT WOODLAND BAPTIST CHURCH 6915 N. ALLEN ROAD PEORIA, IL  61614 AT 7:00-8:30 PM.

8:05-8:30   Teaching Time

Participants grow in knowledge and their relationship with the Living God through INDIVIDUAL STUDY (answering questions and reading commentary on selected Bible passages), SMALL GROUP DISCUSSIONS (weekly sharing of answers and insights in small groups led by a trained leader), EFFECTIVE TEACHING (lecture presented by the Teaching Director, a trained lay leader).

The Addictions Program at the Bloomington Baptist Church is a faith-based, Christ-centered addictions program utilizing the Reformer's Unanimous Curriculum. Every week we hear stories of victory, receive small-group counseling and receive instruction and guidance on overcoming the challenges, temptations and addictions that we face.

This addictions program is not AA. We provide help for any addiction, not just alcohol. No one will attempt to guilt you or ask you to introduce yourself as an addict. At Reformer's Unanimous, our desire is to help you find victory and complete freedom from your addiction-- to remove the addiction from your life so that it ceases to have a hold on you.
