Illinois Symphony Orchestra's Music for a Summer Night with New Concertmaster
Aug 10, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM
The Illinois Symphony Orchestra presents "Music for a Summer Night" featuring Concertmaster Violetta Todorova in a violin recital on Sunday, August 10th at 7pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Normal, IL. The hour-long concert will feature Ms. Todorova, Concertmaster of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, performing classic works for violin accompanied by pianist Brendan Conway. Violetta was named the Illinois Symphony Orchestra’s concertmaster in May 2014. In addition, she also performs with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestras, teaches at the North Shore Music Institute in Northfield, Illinois, and is also the co-founder and director of the 42nd Parallel, a self-conducted orchestra in Chicago. The concert will conclude with refreshment including homemade cookies and lemonade and is ideal for young and old, long time lovers of classical music or first-timers. It will be a marvelous opportunity to experience solo violin up close in the intimate space of the First Presbyterian Church and to get to know Ms. Todorova.
Tickets are available at the door for $15.00 per person and $5.00 for students. Children under six years of age are free.
