Pipe Organ Recital, First Presbyterian Church, Delavan

Lucas Fletcher, an organ performance major at Illinois Wesleyan University, will give an organ recital at First Presbyterian Church, in Delavan. The recital is free. The program will include works by Bach, Mendelssohn, and several organist-composers, such as Louis Marchand (early 18th c.), Louis Vierne, and Powell Weaver (both early 20th c.). Refreshments will be served following the recital.
The church’s Hinner’s pipe organ, manufactured in Pekin in 1914, became one of the largest in the region with the addition of components from the Wesleyan University chapel pipe organ in 1962. The organ has a total of 2,752 pipes in 38 ranks.
