A message from our Station Manager, Jim Huber...

To My Dear Friends of WBNH...

You have heard by now that I’m retiring from WBNH in mid-December this year. I will be 70!  I thought I’d share what WBNH has meant to me.

Opportunities – As a staff, and me personally, WBNH has given us a lot of opportunities.  We have been fortunate to be able to do many things.  We have been able to share the Gospel, first, to thousands of people!  Most of them we’ll never meet, but it’s been exciting to hear from them and hear what God’s been doing through WBNH.

Friendships – I have made some dear friends through WBNH.  I hope to stay in touch with you!  Friends are special, too, when they are brothers and sisters in Christ.  It’s a pleasure to see and visit with you because we have that most special bond.

Fellowship –  This one’s easy.  Speaking with anyone comes naturally when you’re representing WBNH.  It’s easy to talk about the ministry when someone asks.  I’ve enjoyed visiting with new listeners and making friends.

Family – The late Mike Kellogg, former Moody Radio Host, commented once to me at how special central Illinois listeners were.  I said to myself, “that’s because we’re family!”  I see how our listeners LOVE their Christian radio station and claim it as their own.  Yes, we’re friends, we enjoy the fellowship, we’re partners in the ministry; but the best part - we’re family!

Difference – This radio ministry has made a difference in the lives of those who enjoy it.  I know, because they’ve told me!  I have loved being a part of a radio station that is much more than entertainment.  It’s spiritual food, accompaniment, comfort, a tool that can bring a message or music to edify the soul.  It’s God’s voice.  I’m just glad to be pushing buttons at a radio console and sharing.

So, let’s get together one more time.  WBNH is having our annual Christmas Open House on December 12.  This time it will be at Northfield Christian Fellowship in Tremont, enjoying heavy hors d'oeuvres from 3:00 – 7:00pm.   I hope you’ll come and say hello!  So we can best prepare, please RSVP with the form above.

See you soon!

Board message

A message from the WBNH Board of Directors...

The Board of WBNH 88.5 Radio is deeply grateful for the nearly eighteen years of faithful service that Jim Huber has given to this ministry. We believe that God has worked through Jim in countless ways, touching many hearts and advancing His Kingdom through the airwaves. As Jim steps into the next season of his journey, we pray that God's anointing will continue to flow through him, expanding his impact for His glory.

As the Board prayed earnestly and sought God's guidance for the next station manager, we were reminded of Proverbs 16:9, which says, "A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." (ESV). In His perfect wisdom, God has revealed that His plans and timing are beyond our own understanding, and we trust in His divine direction.

In this season of transition, we are blessed to announce that the current WBNH team—Daniel, Carla, and Keith—will continue to steward the daily operations of the station. With humble hearts and a steadfast commitment, they will lead, under the guidance of the Board, and President Donnie Rice, to ensure that our ministry continues to shine the light of truth through Christ-centered teaching and music. We are profoundly grateful for their willingness to step up, expanding their roles in service to God and to our listening family.

We are also thankful to announce that the familiar voice of John Hayden will serve as our morning show host during this time of transition. His many years of broadcast experience at Moody Radio hosting Sunday Praise, along with his pastoral heart, we believe will be a blessing to you as you begin each day with WBNH.

As we move forward, we ask for your prayerful support. May God continue to guide our station, bless our staff, and use WBNH to reach more hearts with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
